Watch for snow and slush

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

The heavy rain today looks to be dragging down the snow level. It was raining in town and slushing on the hump when I left at 6AM this morning and Now 8AM it is snowing in Port.

We are right on the freezing mark, so we could see this snow persist until we get a shot of wind from the southwest in the late morning or afternoon.

Whatever happens, it’s going to be messy and wet out there!

Moving Weather Server

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Hi everyone!

Hope you are staying safe out there. Our weather has turned into a crusty mess! Everywhere but here is around 8C. I’m hoping that we can get a taste of that warmth to melt away all the nasty frozen slush, but I have my doubts.

I will be moving my weather computer today to a different location in the house. I’ll need to re-route some wires and that sort of thing so the website will not be updated during those times.

The data will fill in again once I am all done, but this may be a two-day affair, so don’t be surprised if there are delays in the updates and the graphs get out of sync.

I’ll let you know when I’ve gotten everything squared away again.

In the meantime, lets hope for that warm southerly wind they’ve been promising us before it rains again tonight!
