The buds are coming out

Is it spring now? I guess we should wait until Monday to find out what the GroundHogs say. :)

Workin’ the Bugs out

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Sorry for the downtime today. The developer of the weather software that powers this website has released an update and I wanted to test it for him and work some bugs out as it’s a major update (in ways that would bore any non-computer geek to tears. :) ).

You’ll notice there are a few problems in the data table below. I’m working on fixing those. If you happen to see anything else that looks wrong or out of place just leave a comment and I’ll add it to the modest list I have here.

Thanks for your patience!

That was West Coast snow!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Well that was a little more familiar. At least outside the Valley, it snowed overnight and in the morning, and by 4PM it was all melted and warmed up to 6 degrees! :)

The fog kept it around in Port a little more, but still, we seem to finally be back to a West Coast Winter type pattern of snow+rain.

It only took until February to get here!

Just in time!

Monday, January 26th, 2009

It’s going to snow overnight tonight and into tomorrrow… looks like we can expect the heaviest early to mid morning.

Just in time! I was almost able to turn left into my driveway again!

Cold Cold Cold, then Snow Snow Snow?

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Checked out the latest long long range forecasts for our region earlier and it looks like the models have us getting back into the freezer (just the fridge one this time, not the deep freeze) for a few days and then around February 1st we’re in for what looks like a fair bit of snow.

It’s a long ways out and so all subject to major change, but that’s the forecast for now. Darnit, and I was hoping I’d see all of my grass again before the time change in March!

Meanwhile… San Diegans are being told to turn off their lawn sprinklers to save water as some rain is coming through in the next few days for them down there. Does that seem a little backwards to anyone else?

UPDATE: Forecast has changed (surprise! :) ). I don’t think we’ll see any of the predicted flurries tomorrow… but who knows… but what has changed is this cold will end around Tuesday or Wednesday. We might get some snow Tuesday and then some warmer systems (above zero at least!) should give us rain later in the week.

It still looks like it we might get some snow for the beginning of February!
