It rained on Friday.

It rained on Sunday.

It rained this morning.

It will rain tomorrow.

and Wednesday.

All these days did and will feature rain. Thankfully, it won’t be a downpour 24/7 like this time last year as we began our November deluge. But it will definitely rain. By Wednesday we could see up to 50mm in total in Port Alberni.

Thursday Concern – Atmospheric River/Pineapple Express

However, there is a problem. I have some concern for Thursday/Friday as it looks on the model like we’re setting up for a stronger atmospheric river type event.

It is still there on Friday. Aimed squarely at southern Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.

It starts to move away on Saturday but is still aimed at NW Washington State and southern BC.

So could we see a repeat of last year? Too soon to tell. Remember that last year’s catastrophic flooding came after nearly a full month of back to back atmospheric river events. If this is just a one-off, we should be OK. If it’s the start of a new long term pattern, we could have some trouble.

What if I told you it might snow on Halloween? 🙂

Happy Monday!
