Update Saturday 4PM The River Forecast Centre just downgraded the Flood Warning for the Port Alberni and Central Vancouver Island Area to a Flood Watch. Flooding Continues – Will Peak Saturday afternoon/evening then again Monday/Tuesday
The rain should begin to taper off in a few hours. Sometime after midnight Friday/Saturday, but the damage is done. Flooding is continuing along the Somass River and the Tseshaht First Nation are in emergency mode and have evacuated some people as they sandbag to try to protect homes near the river.
