Well that was unexpected!

We had quite a strong hunderstorm last night including a clap just before 11PM last night that shook my house and by the sounds of others online, a few others too!

Below is the current enhanced radar picture from Wunderground’s STORM app. It is still detecting lightning over the south island and the Olympics. The triangle from the yellow marks is a time estimate for when the lightning producing cells might reach other areas.)

Rain and unsettled weather is expected to continue all day Friday… probably the blustery winds too.

We should get a break on Saturday but there is another rain event coming on Sunday.

Welcome to the wild and crazy part of January! Anyone want the fog back? 😉

(I will be out of province until Sunday so next update here will be Monday)
