Update 8:45PM

Power Outages have been fixed up in the Valley. None reported right now, but there are others around the Island.

Update 5:30PM
Still storming hard on the West Coast:

And the rain continues as well…
Power outages are increasing. Around 130 in Port Alberni at Sproat Lake and 400 in the Courtenay and Bowser areas on the east side.

The wind has not started yet, though if you get a look at the clouds… They are moving…

Update 3:45PM: bchydro.com reporting some power outages on the Island, but nothing major in Port Alberni yet.

Update 3:30PM:

Get ready for the deluge.

The rain should start between noon and 2PM. The real fun won’t come until tonight though with very heavy rain predicted between 8-11PM and lasting until morning.

We should easily get 50mm possibly up to 60mm between now and tomorrow morning.

We may also see some very strong wind gusts tonight around the region with a pocket of 50-60knot (100kph) winds developing off Barkley Sound, in Juan deFuca Strait and off Vancouver Airport/Tsawwassen
