Brief rain Friday with gusty shifting winds before a sunny weekend.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy.

The last couple weeks of wet weather is going to come to an end in the next day as we set up for a sunny stretch starting Saturday.

Friday gusty winds might start early

The models show a rainy front whipping through quite fast on Friday morning. The three images below capture it in three hour chunks starting at 2AM and ending at 11AM.

Rain Scale – Millimeters on top, centi-inches on bottom. (1024cin = 10 inches)

Most of the rain will stick to the West Coast and the hills but we should see widespread showers and rain in all areas between about 7AM and 10AM.

The speed this is moving through hints at the winds that will come with it.

Southwest Winds should pick up on the West Coast with the arrival of the rain around midnight tonight and into the 2-5AM period.

50kt = 90kph

Winds will shift to strong northwest as the front moves through. These will be strongest on the west and east coast of the Island and should clear the clouds quickly by afternoon.

Those winds will continue all afternoon and might feel a little chilly by the time the sun goes down! But the good news is we can expect some nice sunny weather this weekend.

Have a great Thursday!
