Yes it’s still Winter folks. Spring is still (as of this writing) 17 days and a few hours away (March 21 16:21PST)

That means until then we really can’t complain if we get a little more snow, can we? OK, sure we can… we’ve had a fair amount of various forms of the white stuff flying through the air and piling up on driveways over the past couple weeks.

We can expect more of the same Friday into Saturday. The CMC Model also predicts a little wind for us to go along with it.

The GFS has us on the edge of the snow and rain mix. North Island could get 15cm. We’ll likely get significantly less than that. The Nanaimo and Victoria areas will get plain old rain.

The wind won’t be bringing any balmy temperatures this go around. It will be much like it was Thursday. Chilly and Wet. Perfect West Coast bone chilling wind.

The good news is that once the rain and wind is done, the sun will shine for Saturday and Sunday! It will be cold again, below freezing, but hey, that’s winter right? 🙂

  1. Sunshine for the weekend? I’ll take it! Normals for this date are 9 and 0, so the weekend temperatures are right on target!

  2. I should have added that those forecast temperatures are from Environment Canada, while the GFS is more conservative for the high temps. I’m betting if the sun comes through it will indeed warm right up!
