The rain should begin by early Thursday morning.

Rain creeps onto the Island by 5AM in this image.

The rain should build through the day with the heaviest rain coming in the evening between 3 and 5PM.  It should then taper off by late Thursday night and be dry and cool on Friday morning.

Total rainfall for the event: no more than 50mm

There is no threat of snow.  In fact, there may not even be much or any snow on the mountains from this storm, which is pretty disappointing for January.

Saturday – morning start to rain.  Through Sunday.

We then have another system coming for Saturday which will start mid-morning Saturday and last right through Sunday.

The total weekend rain from Saturday 4AM to Monday 4AM

50mm expected in 48hrs between Saturday/Monday.
up to 60mm expected in 48hrs between Saturday/Monday.

60mm.

So unfortunately, it’s not going to be a great weekend to be outside.  There should be more snow on the mountains from the weekend event than from the Thursday event.

We might get some wind with the event on Saturday/Sunday as well but nothing serious.
