I see Environment Canada has come fully on board with the snow forecast this morning! In fact I think, at least according to the charts I’m looking at, that they are going a little overboard.

They are predicting 2-4cm of snow to fall tonight. On that I agree.

However, they are also predicting snow to fall through the day Saturday, but I am not seeing that on the GFS model (it has the precip ending in the morning).

In fact it looks mostly dry (but cold) from Saturday morning until Monday evening.

So I, barring any major upsets, would not expect anything more than a few flurries in the air between Saturday morning and Monday night.

It’s going to get much more interesting come Monday. Looks like some chance for some real accumulations.

  1. Yes, it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out, because the GFS has very little precip until Wednesday.  It’s also calling for much colder temperatures.
