The cold weather may have come a little early this year (and a little strong, we set a new record low for a daily maximum on Wednesday), but it’s not going anywhere.

We should have a pretty decent weekend with hopefully just some nice flurries in the air on Saturday. Then it should clear up and we should get a little bit of sun. On Monday we’re going to have a similar, but not as extreme, circumstance as we did yesterday where it should start cold, and then warm moisture will move in and give us some snow and possibly freezing rain as we warm up.

The funny thing is they keep telling us it’s going to warm up, but the big warm up keeps getting pushed back. And if the models are correct, we’re going to be staying at or very near the freezing mark for the next couple weeks regardless of the systems that move in.

For today though, maybe try to get out and unblock any city drains nearby. The melt shouldn’t be too fast, but it never hurts to keep the stuff clear.
