That is the question of the day.

Earlier in the week the forecast was calling for 30C today. That has now been dropped a degree to 29. Our high for the year was on the 24th of July at 30.3C. Will we beat it? Hard to say at this point. We’ve started out at basically the same temperature, just over 11C this morning.

I think the key will be whether the clouds from the front that is supposed to give us showers tomorrow and monday will reach us early or not. EC is saying increasing clouds this evening. It could make for an extra warm night, or if they come early, it could dampen the heat a bit.

Time will tell. The good news is, it doesn’t really matter. Off to the lake!

By the way. There was another small forest fire yesterday. This time near the turnoff to Mt. Arrowsmith on the hump. (Google Earth file available at bottom of page here).

Fire rating is high or extreme across the Island and a campfire ban is in effect for the Sooke area. Please be careful out there!

  1. I rocked 30.2 here in South Port.  Now that summer has arrived, I see they are forecasting up to an inch of rain over the next couple days.  Does that mean its fall now?
