Threat of snow continues until around noon

The rain started to turn to snow as I went up the Hump this morning around 6AM. Now it looks like this:

There are also reports of wet snow falling in and around Port Alberni. There is a slight chance of it accumulating, particularly if it rains/snows more heavily and drags down the air and ground temperature.

But regardless of what happens it’s definitely looking like time to start up the Snow Contest!

The UWash model has snow possible in Port Alberni until around noon when it starts to slide south.

Cowichan snow until this evening.

It hangs out in Cowichan for a little longer, until after dark. It is difficult to say how much will actually stick as we are just on the freezing mark, but perhaps up to 2-5cm could stick in some areas.

Drying out but Cold until Monday

The rest of the week and weekend looks reasonably dry with only pockets of moisture moving through. But this wet snow might freeze up with temperatures down to -3ºC tonight and tomorrow.

Bundle up, and drive safely out there!
