I noticed as I went to bed last night that we were holding steady at 1C and we remain there this morning.

It could still snow at this temperature but the likelihood of it persisting diminishes. It’s so hard to tell what will happen when we are on the borderline like this. It seems like this has been the story of our fall so far.

You can still expect snowflakes to fly at higher elevations and even in town. This should start around or just after noon. It is not going to be heavy, but should last well into the evening.

Longer term, as I said in my last post, the models are showing a definite warming trend back towards are our normal temperatures in the 5-6C range. The likelihood for a white Christmas is dropping as those temps rise, but it will mean excellent skiing conditions over Christmas break on the always white Mt. Washington! 🙂
