Thick fog remains. Showers finally coming Tuesday.

If you are out driving, beware. The fog is very thick in places, reducing visibility to less than a few metres.

There was a fantastic crescent moon over Mt. Arrowsmith this morning when I went over the hump, it’s almost worth heading up there tomorrow morning before 6AM to get a look, but as luck would have it, rain is finally coming.
It won’t be a storm like we got earlier in the month, but it should deliver steady showers starting around midnight Monday and into the morning.

We should get a break mid morning before the second wave comes through a little stronger around 4PM.

The last of the showers should move through by late morning Wednesday and then we will dry up again.

The rain comes as the jetstream pinches off the huge loop that was over top of us and was directing storms in Alaska.

The jet will now be transitioning into some other state and is forecast to be quite jumbled up this week.

This is it on Wednesday after the rain system has passed us.

It does look as though high pressure will rebuild to the south of us over California and Oregon, but it may not get this far north, so we might actually be into a slightly stormier period going into February. We will see.

Happy Monday!
