The Heat is Here! And it is here to stay…. fire risk rising.

I wanted to wait until the morning long range model was complete before posting an update so we could see the full picture for the next week. It confirms what Environment Canada’s very simple forecast says.

There is nothing but Sun and Heat in the forecast from now through Tuesday next week!

On the ultra long range 16 day forecast we see a possibility of temperatures breaking down a little to the lower twenties next Wednesday which will likely be a good relief.

But as you can see from the cloud forecast for the same period, there is not a lot of cloud expected at all. The Median line in the chart below doesn’t get up off the floor until way down at July 25/26 except for a little blip next Wednesday. Nothing significant. It is likely thunderstorm risk related (which may have fire risk implications more on that below).

So it’s easy… get out there and soak up that sun! 🙂

Note that the Fire Risk is rising on Vancouver Island.  There is now one area of extreme risk at Salt Spring Island.  Our area is currently moderate and is forecast to rise to a High risk on Friday.
