It’s a lot foggier in “sunny” Parksville and Nanaimo right now with this weather pattern than it is in Port Alberni.

Small consolations…. 😉

Not much change in the patter over the coming week…. Long Long forecast from Accuweather last week mentioned possibility of Storminess as the track starts pointing at us when we get into February. But as it is right now the models have us in quite a dry pattern for the next two weeks after todays rain passes on.

  1. O.K. the weather’s so boring and I can’t post on Alberni.ca…………so does anyone know what the sonic boom at about 4:30pm today was all about? Quite frightening really! Hope to get some weather soon……even if it is just glorious sunshine.

  2. The weather IS boring! from here to California 🙂

We were talking about the boom this evening at dinner too.

Only thing we could think was blasting of some sort.

I’m thinking maybe road building up in the Beauforts, I was up there a couple weekends ago and they’re actively building roads not far from Loon Lake.

  3. Yes, really loud and excited a whole bunch of dogs in the neighbourhood…..poor guys took them and mine a long time to calm down. A little excitement anyways!

  4. Well, don’t quote me on it’s cuz it’s the first time it’s popped up… but the long range GFS is showing the possibility of a bunch of rain late next week and remote possibility of snow the week after.

  5. Sonic Boom? Wasn’t home to hear anything here, but could it have been a couple of our CF-18’s out of Comox busting Mach 1 over the Island? Not that they’re really supposed to do that over populated areas, but you never know.

  6. not sure right now…he builds logging roads for a living and doesn’t spend much more than 2 weeks on a particular road. Last I heard he was about 10 minutes from Mc Coy lake road and woodward rd

  7. Oooohhh! You mean I need to go do some off-roading and find out what new roads have been built? Hey Nick, better shine up your Tracker! I think that exploration bug is starting to hit!
