Tonight is the maximum “Super Moon” night. What that actually means is that the moon is at its closest point to the Earth (perigee) and it’s also a full moon. So it’s going to be a great night for moon watching!

It’s not clear but the moon should be peeking out of the clouds all night long. Look for it to rise around 9PM.

Of course the best way to see it is in your own backyard, especially if you’re somewhere away from the city lights so you get some stars too. But if you’re stuck inside it’ll be on the webcam too.

I spent most of today wrangling the new webcam photos on my computer (in between wrangling 9 girls at my daughters birthday party!). The 11 Megapizel photos really make things a little tight on my aging system but I think I’ve got it to a good stable point now. The movies will be short today if you check them out, but they should be all normal by tomorrow.

Happy Moon watching!
