The sun is shining, but don’t let it fool you, it’s windy, the windchill is at 0C right now. There are showers all over the Island. And it’s going to get wild in the next 24 hours.

We have a good ‘ol fashioned PacNW Hurricane coming our way. Thankfully, it will not be going directly overhead. Instead it looks like it’s going to brush past the Island and up into Haida Gwaii (which is normal).

Either way though, we should get some wind out of it up to the 60kph range stronger on the West and East Coast. Solander Island might get up to 120kph.

Spring is here!

  1. Does anyone know what sort of mind altering substances Environment Canada is on?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Snow at times heavy tonight… 5-10cm tonight/tomorrow.  Anyone? Anyone?

  2. Maybe they know something after all..  I have mixed rain/sleet/flurries here at the moment in my backyard.  Go figure.

  3. Yawn…..another forecast from Environment Canada for 10-15 cm of snow.  I just spent 2 hours in the rain/sleet/snow/hail in the back yard changing parts, cleaning and lubricatng my bike for the ride to work tomorrow, and my plans are not changing!

  4. Not sure that places down at sea level will get that 10-15cm but if you go up a few hundred feet it is going to get white pretty quick.  Freezing levels are going to be low overnight and into tomorrow morning, if the precip is heavy enough before the wind kicks in, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a couple centimeters down to sea level.
