Showers Early Today – then a break until Rain Wed Night and Thursday

Hope everyone had a good Family Day holiday!

A short update as I work on the January summary (remember January!?) After a very damp weekend we should get a bit of a break today and Wednesday.

It will stay mostly cloudy or foggy throughout though so we won’t see much or any sun before the rain returns on Wednesday night.

Thursday will be mostly rain but the good news is that except for a weak system before dawn Saturday, there is very little rain in the forecast for the next week and we might even see some real sun on Sunday.  The extra long forecast has us quite mild and fairly dry through most of the rest of the month.

Oh, speaking of wet and dry.  Reports from Environment Canada and Emergency BC  are that a station near Henderson Lake got over 600mm of rain in 36 hours from this weekend’s pineapple express!  And did you hear about the 110cm of snow they got in Terrace and Kitimat!?  Wild weather out there.

Happy Mon—err Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Didn’t think the old Henderson Lake weather station was still active at the hatchery site, as it _WAS_ a manual station last time I was there, and the hatchery was closed a few years ago.
Got insight to the station location?

    1. The big number was courtesy of Environment Canada’s station at “Effingham”. I was alerted to it by Hugh Braker, chief of Tseshaht who apparently was notified through the BC Emergency program. I’m going to try to get on that mailing list. 🙂

      1. A station at Effingham… I know it rains there too, but not aware of any infrastructure… more info, more info! 😉
