So we’re supposed to get (actually should already be, according to the Satellite) a bunch of rain and some wind tonight and tomorrow. Maybe we should start naming our storms?
Why do Hurricanes and Typhoons get all the fun? We don’t get no respect.
There’s gotta be rules though right? So here’s the three.
Season is from November 1 to April 1. Any one Wind, Rain, or Snow warning issued for Vancouver Island Inland Sections or both a Wind and Rain warning issued for West Coast Vancouver Island.

Update: 17:00PST Wind and Rain Warnings are posted for various sections of the Island, except for Inland, though that might not last. (West Coast has only a Wind Warning so far.. so this storm isn’t named Yarko yet) 😉

Update: 18:47PST SNOW! It’s been snowing here since about 6PM. Wet Snow.. but snow all the same. It’s starting to accumulate on the road, our car, and the yard. Woohoo! Much excitement for our 3 year old. 🙂 Environment Canada is forecasting the the storm to blow in warm air by morning… should be about 8 Degrees.. unless the forecast changes of course. 😉

Here’s the list of storm names… we’ll start from Z just to be difficult.

  1. by the looks of the weathermap and the lowpressure system thinger up there on that far left map we could be getting something fun soon,,, but im not a weatherman so i am not sure how to read those maps.

  2. Well I’m not a weatherman either, so I’ll wait for Environment Canada. 🙂 There is already a Wind Warning for the West Coast… so we just need a Rain Warning out there if we’re following my “rules”… given the forecast I’d expect we’ll get a warning for Inland sections soon too.

  3. Well, we had hail when we were putting up the FD radio tower today, and just listening to Highways on the radio, sounds like out lake way to Suttons is snowing, and mixed rain/snow on the Hump… I’m just checking now, my calendar says 2007, not 2006 🙂
