Record Weekend Heat – Full Rundown of Water Restrictions Now in Effect

We broke a short term record on Sunday by hitting 32.2° C at the Airport which was actually a little hotter than what we got in town (the reverse of Saturday).

There is no end in sight really with every day this week expected to be sunny.

Water Restrictions now in Effect.

As of today, lawn and garden watering restrictions are in effect in the City of Port Alberni.  Hand watering is exempt from the restrictions as is watering of city and school parks and playgrounds.

Sprinkling between the hours of 10:00am and 8:00pm is strictly prohibited.
Hand watering of flower and vegetable gardens is permitted anytime. Frequent watering promotes shallow root growth and an unhealthy lawn. For a healthy lawn with deep root growth watering of 25mm is recommended once a week. Watering during the heat of the day evaporates before soaking in.

No restrictions (yet) in Cherry Creek

360º Webcam setback

One final note.  As you may remember, I have been trying for the past year to put together a system that would provide 360º views from my home of the City.  My intention was to purchase a 0-360º Panoramic lens.   I had bought one on eBay but for the first time in many years of purchasing on eBay, I believe I may have come across some sort of scam artist who ‘sold’ me the lens but never actually shipped the product, if they had it at all.  It was supposed to arrive on my doorstep over a month ago.

So as I try to recover the funds I paid, I will continue searching for an affordable solution in this ongoing quest.  I just wanted to let folks know I have not forgotten about it.

Have a great Monday!
