We are in record temperature territory.

We’ve broken the short term record at the ‘new’ airport station that has records back to 1993. The temperature right now at the airport is 11C… Easily beating the record of 9C set in 1997.

It does not beat the all time record from the previous weather station at the old Airport on the Somass River. The record for Nov 27 is 15C set in 1949

The next most authoritative weather statistics source is at Robertson Creek hatchery which has been gathering data since 1961 (and continues today, though it’s data is not live on the Net). It’s record high for nov 27 is 10C in 1966, so if it’s as warm there as it is at the airport, then there is a good chance that record will be broken.

And just to check how other places were doing I checked on Nanaimo. Since records began in 1949 at the Nanaimo Airport their recordfor today at the Airport is 12.2C set in 1980 and 1997 (like ours). They have definitely broken that record today… They hit 13C.

A warm day all around. Beautiful! GO LIONS!
