Unfortunately our streak of sunny weekends is coming to an end.

We’re going to get around 20mm of rain starting mid-Friday afternoon and extending into Saturday morning. It should be over by Saturday evening, but if you’re planning on a BBQ for the Canucks final game against Nashville, make sure you have your rain jacket ready when you’re flipping the burgers.

We should get some breaks in the clouds on Sunday and remain dry into Monday and Tuesday before the next wave of rain and cool weather hits us on Wednesday.

Wondering about May Long Weekend?

Well you can probably guess it. Don’t expect one of those hot “first summer weekend” type long weekends that we sometimes have. But don’t lose all hope. The GFS Long Range has us in a steady warming trend from a 10C and rainy Wednesday May 18 to a dry and 18C Sunday May 22.

And the European long range model shows a similar trend from a colder than normal mid-May to at least a seasonal end of May and beginning of June.

There is hope!

Go Canucks!
