Rain to taper off in the afternoon. Hot Thursday! Then cooling.

Could it be? Are we on the first of not just our first 20°C day but even reaching up to a humidex (what’s THAT) of 25°C?

That is what the forecast says for Thursday.  We have to get through more showers on Wednesday first but lets see what the UWash model says for the Thursday heat compared to Environment Canada.

Here is the 5PM picture for the Island on Thursday.

Orange areas, which are widespread on the East Island, are between 76-80F / 24-27C.  The Alberni Valley is notably yellow rather than orange (a step cooler) but there is a good chance given the other locations that this is an underestimation and we will be as hot or hotter than other places on the Island.  Areas of the Fraser Valley are predicted to go over 27°C!

Unfortunately, the heat is very short-lived.  Friday is only going to get up to about 12°C.

We go back to patchy rain on Saturday and then there looks to be a bit of a drying trend but remaining in the 10-20°C temperature range next week.

Soak up the sun and warmth while you can tomorrow! I hope to have the April Summary up on Monday.
