The rain will finally end this morning. It will likely stay cloudy but the wind may break up the clouds a little bit and give us a glimpse of sun before it goes down before 4:30PM.

The models are seriously optimistic! They have us getting into a very dry spell, but unlike what we got in early November, it’s not an overly cold pattern so it doesn’t look like there is too much threat for snow.

We will likely still get plenty of fog with the warmish temperatures, lets just hope for now that it will be able to burn off.

We might get a little rain on Tuesday, but I don’t really see it being a major event. Certainly nothing like what we had Saturday or Monday.

And for the record, Saturday has eclipsed Monday for rain totals. Mondays values were 70mm of rain (including snow melt) and 77kph top wind gust. Saturdays storm (including what is falling right now) has given us 80mm of rain so far and a 70kph wind gust. Mondays event had a little more damage associated with it because it was more intense over a shorter period of time, really only 24 hours, and combined with the tide at just the right time to surge the high tide into the City. By contrast, this weekends storm has been a long battle from Friday night until now. It’s almost over!

To date we’ve received 224mm of rain. That’s a little more than last years total of 200mm but is still quite a bit drier than our normal of 194mm.

We did receive a fairly normal amount of snow for November. Depending where you were in the Valley there was between 5 and 10cm of snow for the month. Our normal is 10.9cm.

Enjoy your day. GO BC LIONS!!
