As I type this it’s starting to drizzle in Nanaimo… The same is coming to Port Alberni soon if it hasn’t already and the week ahead will have more and more wet stuff as we go.

It looks like we may have finally seen the last of the snow. This week is looking wet only.

Here is this mornings GFS model run:

As you can see there is plenty of rain on the way.. In total the GFS is projecting almost 200mm of rain over the next 7 days… We will see if that pans out (it often overestimates) but what does seem clear is that we’re into a wet pattern with progressively stronger events as the week moves on.

The Thursday event looks like a real soaker in particular with rainfall warnings possible for us (>50mm) but keep an eye on Saturday for wind. It is showing a very strong low down to 98kPa on Saturday and a good shot of rain. As the time draws nearer and the forecasts surer, we will get a better idea of that event.

UMBRELLAS! DEPLOY! 🙂
