It seems like we’ve been waiting for it for months now but it’s finally here.

This week should give us our first real taste of summer! Forecasted highs are up to 27C. Sky’s will not be perfectly clear but should be pretty darn close.

The Pacific Decadal Oscillation has been really affecting our sea temperatures off of North America and delivering plenty of cool water and cool air.

I wonder if that cool water and air might mean we get a little bit more fog? I would think it would certainly enhance the marine fog on the West Coast. Lots of chilly days out there!

Anyway, I won’t tell you what the computer models have in store for us for the rest of July. Just get out there and having some fun in the sun!

And to any American visitors today…. Happy Independence Day!

  1. Yes, I know why you don’t want to discuss the long term Chris, I read Brett Anderson’s post a couple of days ago and I’m keeping it from my family.  On the other hand, his long term has been flip-flopping quite a bit for a few months, and also Environment Canada’s Seasonal Forecast is somewhat more optimistic: http://weatheroffice.gc.ca/saisons/index_e.html
In the meantime, I’ll take your advice and enjoy whatever summer we can get!
