Oct 5 short-term record set – another variable but pleasant week ahead

If you thought it seemed quite warm yesterday, you were right. We set a short-term record for the day when the Airport hit 23.5°C. The previous record for the Airport was 22.7°C in 2012. Had we been another degree warmer we would have started challenging records into the 80s and beyond. The warmest Oct 5 was in 1919 at 26.1°C at Beaver Creek.

We spent part of Sunday learn how to find Chanterelle mushrooms with Len Robertson! We found a bunch! Thanks Len!

As for the weather, the first half of the week looks nice. The UWash models has us mostly dry through Wednesday with only a slight chance of some sprinkles mostly Wednesday. They say there will be a bit more chance for rain on Friday but the models said the same for today and it hasn’t materialized, so I wouldn’t count on it.

There is a more serious system slated for Sunday (alliteration!) but being at the far end of the forecast we will have to wait and see.

Have a happy Monday! I’m going to try not to pass on my plague/cold to anyone by staying home for the day and now going back to sleep after taking some Tylenol to try to knock myself out!
