No escape from spring yet… Bummer start to summer.

Contrary to the Environment Canada forecast of just yesterday, the forecast today is not calling for 26C and sunny on Friday. Instead it is more of the same, relatively dry, but cool.

The GFS model never had anything above 20C this week so it seems there was some disagreement somewhere over how the weather would shape up.

The GFS does not have us breaking out of the high teens as far as its eye can see into early July. There are some small shots of rain in that time.

In all, not a great forecast and yes, I think we can now officially complain. We are past the halfway mark of the month and we are cooler than June of last year by a large margin.

Mean Highs and Overall Average June 2011:18.9C and 14.5C respectively.

Mean Highs and Overall Average June 2012:16.1C and 12.4C respectively.

Ouch

With the forecast highs the GFS is giving us over the last two weeks of June, I can’t see those averages picking up more than a degree.

We have also already had the same amount of days with rain (11) as we did last year. We haven’t had a lot, only 12mm, which is actually less than what I’ve received on average In the past but it has added up to a pretty dreary June.

On the bright side. Would you really rather be in the heat and humidity of a Toronto heat wave right now? (forecast 32C feels like 42C today)

Yuk!
