Well, it’s almost the equinox. And that means two things… our garden is bursting with tomatoes, peppers, carrots and parsnips… AND it’s time to shift the webcam until next spring.

I’m going to turn the camera around to face North. This is necessary because the sun will soon have moved far enough south that it is in the picture, and it will etch the camera!

So.. be prepared for a change of view. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to see the mountains, maybe even Mt. Klitsa and the Comox Glacier.

UPDATE: Hmmm… if those two fir trees weren’t there we could have seen Mt. Klitsa. Oh well. 😉

  1. Not sure what you use for a camera, but I haven’t bothered with mine, and in the summer the sun does hit it face on for quite a while. So far, no damage taken.

Just looking at weather as we’re going camping for the week. Hope the rain holds off!!

  2. It’s true, I think it’ be almost exactly NW actually as due North is the near the closest peak on the Beauforts IIRC

  3. That really is the best I can do at the moment. To get any better I’ll have to move the camera and I just don’t have anywhere to move it to!

  4. Ya, my only fright with that is the susceptibility to exposure to the sun. Direct sun==big scratch on CCD! 🙁

I’d love to get the camera onto a rotating platfoum with simple stops on it so that it couldn’t expose itself to the sun while still have a 360 view.
