The South Island is going to get some rain this morning but we should be spared. The fun for the week starts Tuesday when we have dropping temperatures forecast during the day.

By 4PM Tuesday the majority of the Island is at or below zero. We generally start to fog over if we are not well below zero with dry air to tame the Alberni Inlet and Valley inversion influences. The fog keeps us warmer than other places might be with cold clear skies. So we will just have to see how that works out, it seems very hard to predict whether than fog happens or not. The models certainly don’t ever have much idea.

By Wednesday morning we are approaching -5° C

However, it will be a relatively short lived cold snap it seems. By Saturday we might just see temperatures approaching 15° C. Not bad for the second to last week of November! Any highs around 14°C and lows below -3° C would be in daily record territory since 1995.
