More Rain – Warm Temps – and Comet Sighting?

We had quite a blustery afternoon and night last night. The wind hasn’t dipped below 8kph since around 3PM yesterday. It looks like it’s dying off now.

The rain will return later today. Now that it is Spring and dry weather isn’t too far away, I shut the valves on our water barrels on the weekend so that they would fill up. Well, they’re full (about 120 gallons).

They will be overflowing again tonight and tomorrow as more Pineapple Express type systems come through. The nice thing is that the wind brings the warm temperatures. We peaked at 12.3C yesterday which was not far from our high of the year so far on March 8 when we got up to 13C.

Finally, last night was the best night to catch a glimpse of the comet in the western sky. With the wind there might have even been some clear breaks, but I wasn’t able to see anything. It’s still there but will be a little lower tonight. I will look again, just after sunset. If anyone manages a picture, please let me know if you’d like to share it with everyone. They are such rare things comets. Always fun to see.
