There is plenty of fog out there today on the central Island. As it warms though it should dissipate and we should have a pretty nice day on our hands.

Saturday will be the best day of the weekend but be careful overnight tonight as the clear skies will lead to freezing temperatures and probably frost, ice and fog in the morning. By afternoon we should get up over 10C which will feel pretty great.

The good times will roll until Monday night when we get into another stormy rainy pattern for the week, More on that in future posts.

And if you noticed lately that some of the satellite picture seem weird or incomplete, you are right. It turns out the GOES-15 satellite run by the US NOAA has been out of commission since early this week and science raptors have been unable to bring it back online. We rely heavily on that satellite here on the West Coast of North America and not having it will have a serious effect on our ability to figure out where things are. There are other satellites… But GOES15 was for our region, so none of the others will be quite as good.

You can probably chalk that one up to lack of funding for scientific programs, new satellites, which isn’t only happening in the US…
