First – Lest we Forget.
Today we pause to remember those who have given their bodies and minds to protect us. Veterans of all wars no matter how big or small or what their cause or result deserve our utmost respect as well as respect from Government.
The snow has started to fly this morning.
Ironically I started the Snow Contest one day too late, so this snowfall will not count towards the contest. Often the first snows don’t accumulate. And I’m actually in Victoria so I can’t even enjoy myself!
So don’t worry, todays snow won’t stop the snow contest. Guesses from 6AM tomorrow on will be honoured and whenever we get accumulating snow will determine who wins.
You have until 6AM tomorrow to enter or change your guess. Remember too that you can pick *any* day even one that someone else has picked. You just need to pick a different time than the other person.

I don’t think there will be anything to measure here today. It’s only sticking where there is frost on the ground and the temperature is moving up above 0C.
Well, as of 5:30pm this evening, my lawn is more or less white, and I can measure a full 1.0cm of snow on hard surfaces like the top of the BBQ or the hood of my old truck. Drive 5 blocks to the north, and everything is green. Weird I say.
