Last Total Lunar Eclipse before 2021 is tonight! Will the clouds clear!?

Tonight is the full moon. It is the first full moon of 2019. And it will feature a full lunar eclipse! Here is the visibility and the times (from earthsky).

The Eclipse is very widely visbile. All of the Americas will see it. Times below are Pacific time.

Partial umbral eclipse begins: 7:34 p.m.
Total lunar eclipse begins: 8:41 p.m.
Greatest eclipse: 9:12 p.m.
Total lunar eclipse ends: 9:43 p.m.
Partial umbral eclipse ends: 10:51 p.m.

Earthsky says further: “The January 20-21 total eclipse of the moon lasts for somewhat more than one hour. It’s preceded and followed by a partial umbral eclipse, each time persisting for over an hour. The whole umbral eclipse from start to finish has a duration of nearly 3 1/3 hours.”

But will we see it at all? It is January after all! But there is hope! The model says, clouds will dissipate at 4PM and not return, BUT!…

In the Valley we might have some FOG to deal with. That is what the UWash model is showing below. The whole Island is clearing this evening in fact, so there should be lots of opportunity for lots of people to see it on the South Coast! Lucky day! If you are in a foggy place, just try to get above the clouds and you should be rewarded!
