We are back to hot temperatures over 30° C Friday, Saturday, Sunday and maybe Monday too.  Just to put the rain we had in perspective.  Notice on the right hand side (or on the main page if you are on a phone. ) a value in yellow labelled “ET” which stands for Evapotranspiration.  That means basically, how much water is lost from the earth and plants due to sun and wind.  Today, and most summer days, it was 5mm.  By contrast we have received 9mm this entire month so far.  Doesn’t take long for that 9mm to evaporate!

I will be signing off this page for a week while we do a little bit of galavanting around Washington State.  If interesting weather happens I may post some pictures of East, South or Western Washington as we make our way around.

I am hoping for lightning storms, but the forecast doesn’t look promising. 🙂

Have a wonderful week.  You can expect another post Next Sunday.

  1. Have a great holiday. If you aren’t planning to already I would highly recommend going to Whidbey Island. Check out Deception Pass and do the boat tour that goes under the bridge and out into the sound. Also Copeville has a cute strip of shops.
One more place to check out is the Columbia River Gorge. Do it on the Oregon side from Portland. It’s a beautiful part of the Northwest.
