Heat builds. Could break Airport records Sunday/Monday/Tuesday

Today will mark the end of the windy conditions that have moderated our temperature a bit.  Today through next Tuesday will be at or above 25°C. Temperatures are expected to peak on Sunday and Monday at 30°C.

We will have a chance at breaking the short term records at the Airport since 1995 on Monday the 29th as its current record is only 27.5°C.  We would have to beat the forecast high by a couple degrees on the other days to set any more records this month.

Looking out to the longer term forecasts, the models predict an end to the dry spell next Friday and a drop to cooler temperatures under 20°C.  Pretty typical June weather but not a large amount of rain in the first week.

Have a great weekend and keep an eye out for the 737 coming in to Port Alberni today for refit into an airtanker!
