Well, on this last day of 2007 it looks like we’re setting up for some strong winds and good rainfall for the first day of 2008. The front pounding the Queen Charlottes right now (look at the red in the satellite!) is slated to slip South over the next couple days. It will likely first start as snow, be interesting to see how much.

Happy New Year. I have good news as well for the New Year… I’ve purchased a Webcam for the website! It should be here in a couple weeks and be online by February! I’m not sure which direction to point it… worried that the Sun will etch it permanently if I point it South, but of course that’s the most interesting direction!

Anyway, Happy New Year! See you in 2008!

  1. Hi,
This is George Jr, here in Kamloops. I was checking weather and road conditions and came across your site, and it is great. Good to see the news of the ol home town. This is the best weather website I’ve ever seen, keep up the good work.

    Happy New Year!

    Cheers,

    George

  2. Hey thanks George! More improvements will be coming in a few weeks as I get the webcam up and spread the new graphs around the site a little.

Hope you’re enjoying the snow in the Interior.

    Chris

  3. Well the rain is finally starting.. definitely took its sweet time getting here and it doesn’t look like the wind is going to pan out on the outer coasts either. Bummer! 🙂

  4. Where are you at Brad? It’s not *quite* snowing here yet… though it’s darn close… can always tell when it starts to get really quiet outside.

  5. it snowed like an inch in like an hour up here. wonder how much there willbe in the morning

oh you said you getting a camera, i have a camera but its not the same as yours but it has IR and its weatherproof, i wonder if i could hook it up to stream an updated look outside my house over here, maybe hook it up to your site, or something.

  6. if youre interested in another camera possibly linked you can email me. i havent set it up yet outside, but i have hooked it up inside to test it and it works really well. id just have to figure out the software for it to stream over the internet.

  7. Hey ya that’d be pretty sweet if I could get a feed. Most of those things, if they have an Internet connection, can send periodic files to a webserver. SHould be pretty easy to setup. I could make a logon on my webserver for your webcam to upload its’ images.

It’s still snowing hard here… probably 1in here now. The front is almost past, we’ll see how long it lasts.
