The roads are wet and the bushes are all dripping but we haven’t even recorded 1mm of rain in the past 24hrs. This kind of dampness will continue through the Halloween trick or treating time from 5-8PM.

As you can see above, there are showers lingering in that time period. So my suggestion would be to put a layer on underneath the costume to stay dry and warm if you can but if you can’t just bring an umbrella in case it decides to actually rain. The little ones will likely not notice the dampness in the air or the condensation on their costumes as they consume, and are consumed by their search for sweets. In all, not a bad Halloween. Though I’m still hoping that one day we will get a snowy Halloween like happened at least once that I remember as a kid growing up here.

Friday and Saturday are going to see a lot more serious rain. We should get around 20-30mm of rain between 5AM Friday and 5AM Saturday and then another 5-10 between the same times Sat/Sun.

After that, it’s going to cool down and we might get more below zero mornings starting Tuesday and the mountains should start accumulating some snow.

Tomorrow… Monthly recap! It’s been a very dry October!
