Earthquakes and Tsunamis are things we all must prepare for in this town of ours. Please take this opportunity, make it fun, and do it with as many people as you can. When the real thing happens, it pays to have a plan.

Rain Shakedown Friday:

As you can see above, a very impressive front is set to hit on Friday. The 24hr period between Thurs. and Friday 5PM has up to 20 inches, 500mm shown in white, falling in the mountain areas of the West Coast of the Island. Red and black are up to 10 and 5 inches, 200 and 100mm respectively which looks to be more widespread in the Tofino, Ucluelet and Bamfield areas and on Highway 4.

Here in Port Alberni we are set to get up to 50mm. But we should be prepared for more in case the force of the system moves south a bit. You can see in the image below that places along Highway 4 and Kennedy Lake are going to get hammered, but at least they are used to it.
