Get lucky stuck between the rain storms? Perfect Grey Cup watching or Christmas Tree Decorating weather on Sunday

Interesting forecast this weekend.  We have a few systems delivering rain to the region, but Port Alberni may just get spared the worst of it as some goes north of us and some goes south.

On Friday morning the models have us with a chance of showers this morning until about 10AM.

But interestingly it has the heaviest rain for the rest of the day pulling back to the north and mostly missing us while Courtenay and Campbell River get hammered.  The mountain ranges (Mt. Washington and Sutton Pass) will feel the brunt of this though so be prepared for slush and sleet and snow on the high passes and deep Valley going North and West.  The air is quite cool and the heavy rain will turn to sleet and snow when it is at its heaviest.

This looks to be mostly validating in the Satellite picture this morning.

There is a large blob heading our way (bottom left) that will be the heavier rain that is supposed to track just north of us.

On Saturday morning the pattern reverses and we stay dry while points southwest of us and in Vancouver get wet.  (With possible sleet/snow on the Malahat).  We should stay dry on all day Saturday.

On Sunday, the lucky times are over.
