Fog continues to Friday but look for meteors if you see a break in the clouds!

If you are lucky enough to get out of, (above) the fog before light, there is a wonderful crescent moon waiting for you.  Also, if we are lucky enough to catch a break, or you head up to higher elevation, you will have perfect clear sky tonight, Wednesday, for the Geminid meteor shower!

Look for them radiating from the constellation Gemini which is just above the familiar Orion’s belt!

Unfortunately, we will likely remain in the soup at lower elevation today and Thursday.  Our next chance at seeing the blue sky will be on Frdiay when a bit of cloud cover should move over us overnight Thursday and into Friday morning.

The jetstream remains at a pretty high amplitude… wavy.  Here are some snapshots over the next few days.

Today we can see it curving above us, delivering the stable and foggy conditions we have had for awhile.

By this time next week though it looks like the jetstream will have started a transition.

Either moving us under a trough or maybe directing itself more linearly towards us.  There is a slight chance of white stuff as the transition happens but we will have to wait a bit to get a solid idea.

Happy Meteor Watching!
