Find a puddle! Do a Dance! The Rain is here!

I was pleased to walk out of City Council chambers last night and into the rain! There is just something about it that says home.

It will rain a bit more this morning but the main event will be tonight and Wednesday morning. The main force of the system will actually be to the south of us.

Looking a little closer, the image below shows that between 4PM Tuesday and 4PM Wednesday we should receive no more than 16mm (in blue) and more likely only around 8mm.

Pretty anemic for January.

Vancouver has had its second longest dry streak of weather in January in history.
Alaska smashed heat records yesterday across the state, the NWS released this image of a snowless Alaska mountain range. I’ve included a map to show where it is, marked B. A is Fairbanks.
with the windchill, it will be -50° C in Winnipeg… Actual temperatures though will not be setting record lows… Unlike Dawson and other locals in Yukon that are running 15° C above normal and will likely set record highs today.
