Could get interesting – Snowfall Warning for East Coast

From their Synopsis:

A weak low pressure centre will develop over Vancouver Island tonight. The circulation with the low combined with cold air from the British Columbia interior will produce bands of flurries over the southern sections of East Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands tonight. Snowfall amounts forecast over southern sections will be near 5 cm by Sunday morning. However, locally higher accumulations are possible if the bands of flurries remain stationary.

  1. Don’t you think it’s crazy they would have a snowfall warning? Do you think they are just scared still from November?

  2. This is great! This is the same set-up that resulted in our first big dump of snow when they didn’t issue a warning until you called and told them we had 10cm on the ground. Could be interesting – or nothing at all.

  3. I see they are calling for up to 5cm to fall overnight here… guess it’ll be a wait and see what it looks like when I get up at 4am to go to work for 5am.

  4. O.K………….. I know that I am a little obsessive over weather situations. But, my dog had to go out again(amazing that she needs to go out every 15 minutes so mum can see if it’s snowing yet) Being dark, I have to take my flashlight………much fog blowing around creating ice crystals. flying in circles as the wind tends to do out here in Beaver Creek along the river. Definitely snow flakes mixed in with the fog crystals…………On the other hand…….GO CANUCKS!

  5. saw some flakes of snow when i was driving up to extra foods tonight. 🙂 haven’t checked since but that was a couple of hours ago

  6. Had some family come back from Nanaimo this evening.. they said it was near whiteout conditions in some spots on that side.

  7. very lightly snowing here………..I swear! My husband and children, who by the way, don’t share my passion for weather beg to differ………….Happy snow fall, I hope it’s as good for you!

  8. Yikes.

Ya I’m watching the radar looks like Parksville is getting it pretty good if it’s snow falling.

Please snow gods give us 5-10cm of snow for the morning so my wife has snow for her birthday… she, and I, would be extremely happy.

  9. Happy Birthday to your wife. In Nanaimo we have about 5-15 cms depending on the area of town.

  10. so Chris..Does it look like alot of snow coming our way this week or do you think not?? Im already getting excited along with our kid’s in hope for a super duper “snow day”. Whats your thoughts?
