Cool Mornings and Warm Afternoons Continue. Final Day of Frost? Rain coming next week?

We are under a lot of blue sky lately as a big ridge of high pressure dominates over the West Coast and the NE Pacific.

This has given us beautiful weather! (Though lacking in the rain department.)

A few people have asked when we will stop getting below zero and frosty for gardens and farmers. The answer might be, today!

We were down to -0.7ºC this morning but the forecast has us no lower than 3ºC for the next week under mostly clear skies.

There is no rain to speak of in the forecast. There does seem to be a hint of a change in the pattern next week. Below is the jet stream forecast for next Monday.

You can see a lot of turbulent behaviour but on the left side of the picture is some strong flow from the West that might be able to cut through.

The 16 day model is leaning in the same direction with a shift to cooler highs (but not freezing lows) next week and some precipitation.

We’ll just have to see how it goes. Have a good Easter!
