Chance of snow or showers Thursday night but mostly a very dry November.

Cold this morning!

This was the coldest morning so far this year at Alberniweather. We got as low as -4.2ºC at 5AM! That should be as low as we get this week but it’s not going to warm up much until the weekend when we should stay above freezing and get up to 10ºC with sun.

North Island snow Thursday night – Might creep into Port Alberni

The models show a week batch of precipitation moving over the north Island overnight tomorrow. It is expected at this point to just brush by the Alberni Valley so we may or may not see some showers or possible flurries from this.

We’ll just have to see how it lines up and how much moisture is actually in there. It looks unlikely that we’ll get any serious accumulation. Campbell River will probably get most of it.

Dry and clear – Unusual November

Other than that… it looks unusually dry and clear for the next week. Even though the cold makes it feel a little different, the drought appears to be continuing. Local lakes and rivers and reservoirs won’t have gotten much out of the recent rains.

There is little-to-no moisture on the 16-day forecast that now stretches out to near the end of the month.
