There are plenty of spots on the Island that are below zero at this hour before the sun has risen. In Port, the fog formed as we approached zero and its been steady all night. There is a little bit of frost and the roads will be slippery. Be careful out there.

The forecast calls for this clear and cold pattern to continue until Sunday. It should reach us in late morning so it is doubtful that any snow will fly though if you are at higher elevations you should definitely watch out.

Here’s the chart:

There might be a chance for some light slushy yuk on Sunday morning on the way to church but by afternoon, the warm southerly winds should be with us and any precipitation after that will be rain.

Here’s the extra long range forecast.

You can see it is a complete 180 from my last post, which is pretty common with these 2 week forecasts. However, it has been showing this pattern here for the past 3 days now so one can be more confident that at least the nearer part is accurate. And that is interesting because it shows what looks like a pretty strong rain and possibly wind coming for Saturday the 17th. It will all depend where the low pressure centre goes and that can change a lot this far out so certainly no guarantees.

We will see if that forecast holds… But this does make me think twice about sending my station in for repairs. I have not received the RMA yet anyway from the company so I won’t be spending it this weekend. If these forecasts hold, I might have to wait until after the 17th at least as I would not want to miss a storm. That would be no fun at all! 🙂

  1. I would still send in your sensors for repairs. I don’t think next weekend will be anything memorable.
