Blustery soggy start.. Then dry and mild

It was a gusty night. Lots of stuff blown around on the deck when I let the cats out this morning.

There will be showers most of today as a system clears out. It should dry up by tonight and then stay dry Tuesday and Wednesday.

Temperatures should stay fairly mild in the 9-15C range. The next rain will come late Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

I just got a message from my calendar saying its time to switch my solar panels to their winter, nearly upright, position. The sun is getting lower in the sky and is packing a lot less punch too.

Even though the panel is only about 50 Watts. It still adds up. Here is it’s profile over the past year. You can see the dark days of winter give way to spring. (There was a bit of a blackout in summer when i had it disconnected). This month I’ve generated enough power (160Wh) to run a smartphone for 44 hours.

The solar hot water heater makes a bigger difference on the bottom line for now. It was nice to hear its pump start running when the sun came out yesterday. Gave the kids a bath in more free hot water is always good. Then we went out before the clouds rolled in. 19C isn’t bad for an October high.
