Happy Fall Equinox everyone! Today is the first day of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

It’s been quite blustery out early this morning. If you’re headed anywhere north of Campbell River you can expect measure winds… in the 90-110kph range this morning and through the day.

The rain will continue off and on until Saturday morning when it should stop for most of the day. Then it’s time to get ready for the Remnants of Roke!

The former Hurricane is just approaching the tip of the Aleutian Islands as you can see in the 24hr chart pacific forecast chart

It is forecast to head our way very quickly, diving South and West to lie directly offshore of us… it should cross over us by late Sunday and early Monday. It looks like there won’t be too much wind associated with it and even the rain isn’t going to be too bad. But it should keep us pretty warm and muggy.

By Tuesday things should clear up a bit and maybe we’ll even see some breaks in these clouds!

Enjoy your weekend! And if you haven’t heard. 350.org is organizing a “Moving Planet” event on Saturday where folks are encouraged to move around their town by means other than personal gas powered car/truck.

Residents in Port Alberni are invited to bring a picnic and walk, bus, run, bike, blade, or e-scooter to Weaver Park between 12PM and 2PM.
